Ginevra, Svizzera. 9 Marzo 2017. La FIA ha tenuto il suo secondo World Motor Sport Council dell’anno oggi a Ginevra in seguito alla riunione straordinaria che ha avuto luogo il 18 gennaio.

Durante l’incontro, sono state prese diverse decisioni di cui riportiamo quelle riguardanti la Formula E, il WEC ed il Campionato FIA Electric and New Energy:

Formula E

In seguito alla richiesta di ASN belga e del promotore, Consiglio Mondiale del Motorsport ha convenuto che il Round 8 del Formula E Championship si terrà a Berlino l’11 giugno, invece di Bruxelles, il 1° luglio, rendendo il Berlino ePrix un evento doppio e mantenendo le 12 gare di tutta la stagione.

FIA World Endurance Championship

A seguito della riunione del Consiglio Mondiale del Motor Sport, del 30 novembre 2016, la formulazione del Regolamento Sportivo è stata aggiornata con riferimento a questi temi, che erano stati approvati in precedenza:

– Creazione di un campionato del mondo LMGTE.

– Nuove limitazioni di pneumatici per la categoria dal 2017: la riduzione del numero di pneumatici autorizzati per evento per la categoria LMGTE LMP1 e.

– Limitazione del periodo di guida continuo per 80 minuti in gare dove la temperatura ambiente raggiunge 32°C, per una questione di sicurezza.

– Deroghe tecniche fornite ai nuovi entranti nel Manufacturer World Endurance Championship (LMP1 ibrida), al fine di aiutare i potenziali costruttori a contemplare l’ingresso nel campionato.

Campionato FIA Electric e New Energy

Riguardo il Campionato FIA Electric e New Energy 2017, sono state approvate le seguenti modifiche:

– Rally Italia-Slovenia (23-26 marzo) è stato annullato

– Econova Rally Germania sarà sostituito da una nuovo ECONOVA Cup, che ora si terrà in Austria alla stessa data (31 agosto – 3 settembre, 2017)

La prossima riunione del World Motor Sport Council della FIA si terrà a Ginevra il 19 giugno 2017.

FIA announces World Motor Sport Council decisions

Geneva, Switzerland. March 9th 2017. The FIA held its second World Motor Sport Council of the year today in Geneva following the extraordinary meeting which took place on 18 January.

During the meeting, different decisions were taken and we report those concerning Formula E, WEC and FIA Electric and New Energy Championship

FIA Formula E Championship

Further to the request of Belgian ASN and the Promoter, the World Motor Sport Council agreed that Round 8 of the Formula E Championship will take place in Berlin on 11 June instead of Brussels on 1 July, making the Berlin ePrix a double-header event and retaining the 12 rounds across the season.

FIA World Endurance Championship

Following the World Motor Sport Council meeting of 30 November 2016, the wording of the Sporting Regulations was updated in reference to the following topics, which had been approved previously:

– Creation of an LMGTE World Championship.

– New tyre limitations per category as from 2017: reduction of the numbers of tyres authorized per event for the LMP1 and LMGTE categories.

– Limitation of the continuous driving time to 80 minutes in races where the ambient temperature reaches 32°C, as a matter of safety.

– Technical waivers provided to the new entrants in the Manufacturer’s World Endurance Championship (LMP1 Hybrid) in order to help any potential Manufacturers contemplating entry in the championship.

FIA Electric and New Energy Championships

Regarding events in the 2017 FIA Electric and New Energy Championship, the following changes were approved:

– Rally Italy-Slovenia (23-26 March) has been cancelled.

– EcoNova Rally Germany will be replaced by a new EcoNova Cup, which will now be held in Austria on the same date (31 August – 3 September, 2017).

The next meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council will be held in Geneva on 19 June, 2017.
