Adrian Fernandez confermato come Gran Marshall per Città del Messico ePrix

Città del Messico, Messico. 23 Febbraio 2016. Il leggendario pilota messicano Adrian Fernandez sarà il Grand Marshall dell’inaugurale Città del Messico ePrix del mese prossimo.

Il messicano, che è arrivato sul podio due volte alle 24 Ore di Le Mans e ha vinto 11 gare in 11 anni di carriera in Champ Car e Indycar, sarà in funzioni di rappresentanza alla prima corsa di monoposto elettriche che si svolgerà nel suo paese.

Egli ha detto: ”E’ un grande onore per me essere il Grand Marshall del Città del Messico ePrix. La Formula E sta cambiando il modo di vedere delle persone di tutto il motorsport nel mondo, con il suo impegno per l’ambiente e lo sviluppo tecnologico, pur mantenendo un elevato livello di concorrenza. Sarà un giorno molto speciale per i tifosi e ci sarà tutto il sostegno a Salvador Duran, il nostro pilota messicano”

Ramon Osorio, Direttore del Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, ha detto:

”Parlare di sport motoristici in Messico è come parlare di Adrian Fernandez. Fare di lui il Grand Marshall è un omaggio a un grande pilota e un grande essere umano, che ha dedicato la sua vita a questo straordinario sport. Sono sicuro che i fan messicani saranno molto felici della sua presenza”.

Mexico City, Mexico. 23 February 2016. Mexican racing legend Adrian Fernandez will be the Grand Marshall for next month’s inaugural Mexico City ePrix.

The Mexican, who was a two-times podium finisher in the Le Mans 24 Hours and won 11 races in an 11 year Champ Car and Indycar career, will perform ceremonial duties at the first all electric single-seater race to take place in his homeland.

He said: ‘‘It’s a great honour for me to be the Grand Marshall for the Mexico City ePrix. The FIA Formula E Championship is changing the way people around the world view motorsport, with its commitment to the environment and technological development whilst maintaining a high level of competition. It will be a very special day for the fans and we will all be supporting Salvador Duran, our Mexican driver.’’

Ramon Osorio, Director of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, said: ‘‘Talking about motor sports in Mexico is talking about Adrian Fernandez. Making him the Grand Marshall is a tribute to a great driver and a great human being, who has dedicated his life to this amazing sport. I’m sure Mexican fans will be very happy with his presence.’’
